7:40 p.m. Saturday — John J. Jackson, 43, of Butler, who was wanted on four bench warrants, was arrested after he attempted to run from police near West Brady and East Locust streets.Police said they suspected Jackson to be under the influence of alcohol when they nabbed him following a call for a domestic dispute at a home on the 300 block of North Chestnut Street. A 911 caller had reported seeing him flee the home, according to court documents.While an officer escorted the defendant to a cruiser, police said, he pulled away and tried to run. Police said they immediately took him to the ground.Jackson was arraigned on charges of resisting arrest and public drunkenness, and was later placed in the Butler County Prison on $7,500 bond.10:30 p.m. Nov. 4 — Lukus T. Safranek, 25, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted a woman during a domestic dispute at his apartment on West New Castle Street.The victim told police that Safranek repeatedly slammed her head off a door, according to court documents. The defendant was arraigned on a charge of simple assault, and he was later placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bond.

5:33 p.m. Friday — Tyler Kennedy, 18, of Butler was injured when a car rear-ended the motorcycle he was driving on the 100 block of South Duffy Road.Kennedy was stopped in traffic at the time. He complained of pain and was taken to an unspecified hospital by private vehicle.The other driver, Earl R. White, 41, of Butler, was cited for driving too fast for conditions and driving with improper tires.

7:49 p.m. Monday — A car driven by Brock A. Beck, 28, of New Castle struck a deer on Interstate 79 south in Muddy Creek Township. Beck was not injured, but his car had to be towed.6:10 p.m. Monday — A pickup truck driven by Terry L. Cunningham, 64, of Fombell, Beaver County, struck a deer on Route 108 just north of Crocker Road in Slippery Rock Township.He was not injured, but his truck had to be towed.Police cited Cunningham for driving without a license and not wearing a seat belt.2:09 p.m. Monday — No one was inured when a sport utility vehicle driven by Mildred J. Orloski, 60, of Butler rear-ended a car on Route 68 just south of Krenitsky Lane in Connoquenessing Township. Randall J. Palagallo, 35, of Freedom, Beaver County was the other driver.Police said both vehicles were towed and Orloski was cited for following too closely to another vehicle.9:34 p.m. Sunday — An SUV driven by John K. Jefferis, 66, of Grove City struck a deer on I-79 north on Jackson Township. He was not injured, but his vehicle had to be towed.6:02 p.m. Sunday — An SUV driven by Carlyn D. Cole, 35, of Mars struck a deer on I-79 south in Cranberry Township. She was not injured, but her vehicle had to be towed.2:05 a.m. Sunday — Colton Miner, 20, of East Butler was arrested for drunken driving in Summit Road and Route 8 in Center Township. He is charged with driving under the influence, DUI by a minor, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.6:02 p.m. Saturday — No one was injured when an SUV driven by John J. Bednarsky, 27, of Millvale, Allegheny County, struck a deer on Route 422 about one-half mile of the Prospect exit in Franklin Township. The vehicle was towed.1:04 a.m. Saturday — Craig A. Kovacic, 32, was arrested after he allegedly overdosed on heroin while he was caring for his girlfriend's mentally challenged 12-year-old daughter at their home on Rider Church Road in Center Township.Police said they were called to the home and found Kovacic. They believe he overdosed in his bedroom. He admitted to injecting several stamp bags of heroin, according to court documents.In plain view, police said, were five uncapped syringes. Also found were 12 empty stamp bags of suspected heroin. The contraband, documents noted, were “within the area of where the (girl) sleeps and she was present in the room during the incident.”Kovacic was arraigned on misdemeanor charges of child endangerment and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is free on nonmonetary bail.
