Campbell, Pizor key Butler golf victory

Jake Campbell fired a 38 and Corey Pizor a 39 to lead the Butler boys golf team to a 205-226 win over Shaler at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course Thursday afternoon.

Tommy Dimun added a 41, Sam Weston a 43 and Josh Tilko a 44 for the Golden Tornado (4-5, 5-5), who will host Pine-Richland on Wednesday.

Butler's junior varsity team was also victorious against the Titans 222-285.

Neshannock 159, Grove City 170 — Ben Lucas and Matt Gordon both managed a 40 for the Eagles.

Butler's top singles player, Laura Brestensky, lost in the second round of the Section 2-AAA Tournament. After beating Hampton's Rachel Harrison 10-2 in the opening round, Brestensky fell to Pine-Richland's Marlys Bridgham 10-0.Also representing the Golden Tornado, Zoe McCafferty lost to Mars' Kaitlyn Craig, 10-5 in the first round.Wilmington 3, Grove City 2 — The Eagles (7-2) dropped this road match to the Greyhounds.Singles: 1-Meredith Trent (GC) def.
