Band night to feature five performances
The Saturday Night Special this month will be this coming Saturday instead of next, since the lead group must be elsewhere on Feb. 29.
The Saturday band night at the Butler Art Center will feature the group Trevolta as well as Miranda Brandon, Halfway Down, End of Thought and Macro Aggression.
The event will run from 6 to 10 p.m. with the doors opening at 5 p.m., and admission is $3 at the Art Center, 344 S. Main St.
The band Trevolta, of Saxonburg, was formed in 2016 by Jesse Ort, lead guitarist and vocals; Austin Zarnick, bass and backup vocals; and Jason Brahler, percussion.
Trevolta has performed at The Hard Rock Café in Pittsburgh and the Butler Farm Show. On Feb. 29, the group will be part of the 24th annual Tri-C High School Rock Off in Cleveland.
Miranda Brandon is a solo artist from Slippery Rock. She attends Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School in Midland. She played The Band Jam Grass Roots Festival in 2019 at Coopers Lake along with many other venues.The band Halfway Down, from the Freeport/Elderton area, consists of four members all under the age of 21. They performed at the Fostering Music Benefit event on Jan. 18 at the Lenape Heights Golf and Country Club. They will be playing all cover songs, including artists from the '70s and '80s.End of Thought is appearing for a second time at the Saturday Night Special. This band from Beaver is finishing up a 10-song album.And Macro Aggression, a Pittsburgh-based alternative-rock band, will release its untitled first extended play this spring. Having formed a little over a year ago, the band has been featured at local music festivals and clubs including The Smiling Moose, Mr. Roboto Project, and Howard's Pub.For more information, call the Art Center at 724-283-6922.
