The Butler Eagle publishes religious news and events each Thursday in the Focus section.

Information for the Religious Roundup and Offerings sections are due to the focus department by 5 p.m. Monday for that week’s events.

Only events happening during the Thursday-to-Thursday week will be printed.

Announcements may be mailed to Focus Dept., P.O. Box 271, Butler, PA 16003, emailed to focus@butlereagle.com or faxed to 724-282-4180.

Submissions will not be taken over the phone. Questions can be answered by phone by calling 724-282-8000, Ext. 253.

Below are guidelines for what announcements may be published.

OfferingsOffering announcements are placed for religious events or activities that are open to the community and outside of regular church activity.Church flea markets or other nonreligious activities are not considered for the Offerings section.We also publish announcements for the addition of new pastors.Activities, speakers and programs that occur during regular church services are considered Religious Roundup items and will not be printed as Offerings.

Religious RoundupReligious Roundup announcements should be about special events pertinent to a church congregation.Examples are: guest speakers, special music during a service, church picnics, communion (if not offered every week), changes in meeting or service times and special events for youth groups, Bible study groups, etc., with times and locations.We do not publish weekly sermon titles, weekly Bible study meeting times or locations or weekly church group meetings or practices.We also do not publish announcements more than once.
