There will be an emphasis on missions during the Sunday worship service at the Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road.

The District NMI Convention will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at the District Center tabernacle. Speakers are Don and Evie Gardner from Africa.

District Assembly will begin at 6:30 p.m. Friday continuing Saturday, with the ordination service at 4:30 p.m.

There will be a worship service at 11 a.m. Sunday at the tabernacle.

Christ Community U.M.The Prayer Shawl Group of Christ Community United Methodist, 205 N. Duffy Road, will meet at 6:30 p.m. today.There is a need for yard workers at 11 a.m. Friday at the church.Items are needed for the military serving in Afghanistan. See the list in the narthex.The annual church conference will be Thursday through Sunday.The Red Church will be on the altar Sunday for contributions for Jumonville’s H.O.P.E Camp for underprivileged children.The office will be closed Friday and June 11 through 15.June’s mission team trip to Harrisburg has been canceled.Food cupboard items for June are graham crackers, saltines and cereal.

Hill U.P.The Presbyterian Women’s birthday offering will be received at weekend services of Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St.Lay pastor Kathy Davis will deliver the message at the 6 p.m. Saturday contemporary service.The Hill Youth Chorale will leave at 7:15 a.m. Friday for its trip to New York City.Donations of drinking water in gallon-size containers or bottled water are still being accepted.The Ghana mission task force is accepting donations for educational scholarships for Ghanaian women.

Trinity LutheranAll services at Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township, will offer Holy Communion this weekend.The first of Pastor Benson’s summer classes on the study of Psalms will be held at 9:30 a.m. Sunday in the choir room.Blood pressure screenings will be offered after the Saturday service and between the two Sunday services.Trinity Youth will serve a spaghetti dinner from noon until 3 p.m. Sunday. Donations received will help support their trip to the ELCA’s national youth gathering in New Orleans.There is a pitcher in the narthex for monetary donations to help buy water for the people in Connoquenessing Woodlands who are presently without.Beginning at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, the Health and Wellness Ministry will sponsor a yoga/stretch class, led by Jen’s Academy.

West Sunbury U.P.The West Sunbury United Presbyterian Church, 215 E. Church St., West Sunbury, will honor 2012 high school graduates during its worship service Sunday.

Zion U.M.The book club will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the library of Zion United Methodist Church, 438 Bear Creek Road, Sarver.Volunteers are still needed for the Young Life yard sale being held today through Saturday and June 14 to 16 in Natrona Heights.
