Setup workers for Christ Community United Methodist Church's annual rummage sale on Friday and Saturday should be at the church, 205 N. Duffy Road, today.

Covenant PresbyThe Sacrament of the Lord's Supper will be celebrated Sunday at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St.Donations of school supplies for the children of families who are patrons of the Covenant Cupboard are being accepted. Monetary donations are also welcomed.The supplies will be given to the children from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Aug. 18 at the back to school party.

First BaptistFirst Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will have John and Robin Proios, missionaries to Brazil, as the guest speakers for the 7 p.m. Wednesday service.Friendship Parish of Slippery RockThere will be a combined praise and Communion service at 10 a.m. Sunday at Bethel Presbyterian Church, 877 Franklin Road.Officiating will be Rev. Donna Yanosy, interim pastor of the Friendship Parish.No services will be held at West Liberty or Wolf Creek Presbyterian churches Sunday.

Grace @ Calvary LutheranGrace @ Calvary Lutheran Church is located at 123 E. Diamond St.The youth group will be serving at the community meal at First English from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday.There will be a girls' night out at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Monroe Hotel. Hill U.P.There will be no service Saturday at Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St.Rev. Mike Winship will be the speaker at the Sunday worship service.Covenant Cupboard food requests for August are soda or graham crackers.The collection of bottled water is ongoing and items should be placed near the food barrels.Donations collected for the Ghana education scholarships are being received.The church office will be closed Friday.

Meridian U.P.The meeting of the trustees at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday will be followed by the meeting of the deacons at 7 p.m. at the Meridian United Presbyterian Church, 4150 Highland Ave.

New Life Christian MinistriesBackpacks and school supplies will be collected at all three weekend worship celebrations at New Life Christian Ministries, South Butler Primary School, 328 Knoch Road, Saxonburg.The backpack team will prepare the backpacks for distribution to students in time for the beginning of school.A time of prayer for students and school personnel and the Lord's Supper will be celebrated at all three weekend worship celebrations.A men's prayer time will be held from 8 to 9 a.m. Saturdays, from Saturday through Aug. 25 at 320 W. Main St., Saxonburg.This is a time dedicated to praying for the November elections.The prayer time is open to all men who would like to participate.

North Main St. Church of GodSunday will be the first worship service led by new pastor Brandon Lenhart at North Main Street Church of God, 1201 N. Main St.Sixty Plus or Minus group will enjoy its annual picnic at Whitehall Camp and Conference Center at noon Aug. 9. Each member is asked to take a dish to share.They will be meeting at the church's north parking lot at 11 a.m. to carpool to Emlenton.The mothers of preschoolers group is growing, and so is the need for child-care volunteers during the meetings.The group meets the first and third Friday of each month from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the parlor.The next meeting is Aug. 17 and the fall schedule will resume Sept. 7.Those interested in helping should call the church at 724-285-4214.

Old Union PresbyA meeting to discuss community outreach will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars.

Saint Andrews U.P.Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., will welcome the Rev. Connie Dunn to the pulpit.The First Sunday mission offering will go to the Lighthouse Foundation in Middlesex Township.

St. John's Lutheran ChurchSt. John's Lutheran Church, Main Street, Connoquenessing, will celebrate Holy Communion on Sunday.The August cause of the month is the American Red Cross Local Chapter.Volunteers are still needed to help plan the church's 125th anniversary celebration.

St Luke's LutheranThe youth and confirmation class will return to St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St, Saxonburg, on Friday from its mission trip to Tennessee.Holy Communion will be celebrated at both services Sunday.The congregational care and fellowship ministry will conduct worship services at 2 p.m. Sunday at Elmcroft.Everyone who is involved or would like to be involved with a ministry is urged to attend All Ministry Night at 7 p.m. Monday in Centennial Hall.The fellowship life and congregational Care Ministry team will provide refreshments.John and Gayle Gundlach will host the senior stars/55+ group at their home on Wednesday.The church office will continue to observe summer hours.

Trinity LutheranThe Men's Ministry of Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township, will meet for breakfast and Bible study at 8 a.m. Saturday.There will be only one Sunday morning service, at 10 a.m., during all Sundays in August.Both the outreach and the Christian education committees will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday.There are still Sundays available for the dedication of the altar flowers. A chart is on the bulletin board in the narthex.The church will be collecting paper products and personal care items for the Covenant Food Cupboard during the month of August.

Zion U.M.Doughnut fellowship will be at 9 a.m. Sunday in the Fellowship Hall of Zion United Methodist Church, 438 Bear Creek Road, Sarver.Acolyte planning meeting is at 9 a.m. Sunday in Room 3.Zion is now on Facebook.
