Cable TV firm buys plumbing company
The Armstrong Group of Companies announced Thursday the group has purchased McDonald Plumbing and HVAC of Renfrew.
A press release from Armstrong said the acquisition fits Armstrong's strategy of “owning and growing regional businesses that it can bring value to and expand in Western Pennsylvania and nationally.”
McDonald is a mechanical contractor offering heating, air conditioning and plumbing services to residents and businesses primarily in Butler, Venango, Armstrong, Mercer, Lawrence, Beaver, Clarion and Allegheny counties.
Dru Sedwick, Armstrong president and CEO, said the purchase provides a platform for the company to enter the mechanical contracting business.
“We look forward to Ken and his team joining Armstrong and leveraging our expertise in customer service, direct marketing, fleet management and back-office operations to build a very successful mechanical contracting business,” Sedwick said.
The Armstrong Group of Companies, based in Butler, is a family owned holding company with businesses that include telecommunications, security, commercial real estate development, food retail and electronics manufacturing.
Armstrong Cable Services is the 12th-largest broadband multiple-system operator in the nation.
