Butler Police8 p.m. Tuesday — Daniel J. Murray, 32, of Butler was arrested after he allegedly threatened his ex-girlfriend with a knife in the 300 block of South Monroe Street.The victim told police that Murray pulled the knife out of his pocket during an argument, according to court documents. He is accused of throwing the knife on the ground before picking it up and chasing the woman with it.The victim, documents said, managed to run back to her house. But once there, the defendant allegedly threatened to slash her roommates’ tires. No injuries were reported.Murray was arraigned on charges of terroristic threats and disorderly conduct. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail following arraignment.Monday — Thomas J. Martin Jr., 52, of Butler was arraigned on charges stemming from a Christmas Day investigation during which he allegedly gave officers a bogus name and later pulled away from them.Martin was subsequently taken to the ground, according to court documents. Police later identified the defendant, who was found to be wanted on bench warrants in Butler and Lawrence counties.He was placed in the Butler County Prison for the warrants. He was arraigned charges of resisting arrest and false identification to law enforcement authorities.2:19 a.m. Dec. 26 — Police arrested Joshua W. Shuler, 33, on a charge of felony assault after police say he broke his wife’s collarbone during a domestic dispute at their home on Sherman Avenue.The victim recounted that she was sleeping when the defendant returned home, according to court documents. She awakened to find him standing over her.Shuler allegedly grabbed and twisted her arm, and slammed her into the wall. The victim told police that the defendant fled the home and drove away in a pickup truck.Police noted that medical records indicated the victim suffered a fractured clavicle in the incident.Shuler was eventually arrested and arraigned Friday on a charge of aggravated assault. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $35,000 bail following arraignment.

Butler Twp PoliceDec. 24 — Jarrod N. Warner, 38, and Melanie Provost, 40, both of Butler were allegedly caught at the Butler Commons Walmart, from which they had previously been barred.Police cited Warner and Provost for defiant trespass.

State Police, ButlerTuesday — Police reported they are investigating the repeated burglary of a home in Prospect. Numerous items were taken from the home on Church Street that was entered several times between Sept. 24 and Friday.A police report did not provide any other information, including whether investigators have any suspects.2 a.m. Monday — A young Clarion County man was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of marijuana on Route 68 in Oakland Township. Police said they also found the driver, Lawrence J. Convery, 19, of East Brady, with a small amount of marijuana.Convery was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Charges are pending lab results.Dec. 17 — Steven M. Plavny, 58, of Slippery Rock was charged with drunken driving in connection with a traffic stop a week earlier in Slippery Rock Township. Police said they pulled him over Dec. 10 after they saw his car cross both the center and fog lines on Interstate 79.Plavny was arrested after he failed field sobriety tests, according to court documents, and police took him to the barracks for a blood test. His blood-alcohol level was 0.155 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.In addition to driving under the influence, he is charged with failing to keep right, disregarding traffic lanes, careless driving and failing to use turn signals.

State Police, KittanningTuesday — Police are asking the public’s help in finding Joshua X. Cotto, 32, of Butler and Dylan J. Giger, 25, of Sarver, who are both wanted on warrants. Cotto and Giger are among a list of 20 wanted persons who police are seeking.Armstrong County court records showed that Cotto has an arrest warrant for a 2016 drug paraphernalia case and Giger has an arrest warrant for a 2015 driving under the influence case.Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the defendants is asked to call state police at 724-543-2011, or local police.
