The Connoquenessing Creek Cleanup planned for this Saturday has been canceled, organizers said Friday morning.

The organizers cited concerns of high water in the creek as the reason to cancel the event.

The Allegheny Aquatic Alliance was to hold two creek cleanups in 2021, on Saturday and again on Sept. 11.

The Sept. 11 remains scheduled, bit the Aug. 28 event will not be rescheduled.

A 10-mile section of the creek in Butler and Oakland townships will be the focus of this year's cleanup events.
