The City of Butler Playground Program will host a free community night for children and families from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Butler Memorial Park in the Deal Shelter.

There will be food, luau-themed games, prizes, bounce house, a balloon man and face painting.

BUTLER TWP — Butler County Community College will hold an information session for adult students from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 7 in the admissions office at the Student Success Center.The session is for adult students beginning their education, returning to college or changing careers.There will be information on academic programs and support services tailored to the specific needs of adult students.Although the session is targeted to adult students, it is open to all prospective students.Call the admissions office at 724-284-8501 to reserve a space.

A Families Forever seminar will meet from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Aug. 18 at Lifesteps, 300 Stirling Village.Enrollment officially closes Saturday.Families Forever teaches parents how to minimize the negative effects on children involved in divorce and/or custody situations.To register, call Lifesteps at 724-283-1010.

BUTLER TWP — Butler County Community College's Adult Literacy Program is holding a graduation ceremony for Butler County GED graduates at 7 p.m. Aug. 9 in Succop Theater on the main campus.Students who have completed their GED between July 1, 2011, and June 30, 2012, are invited to participate in the graduation ceremony.Interested students can contact the Adult Literacy Program at BC3 at 724-287-8711, Ext. 8350.

EVANS CITY — The Schoeffel family reunion will be from noon until 8 p.m. Aug. 11 at the large shelter in EDCO Park.Take a covered dish to share.
