Butler Township PoliceTuesday — Carrie B. Noble, 32, of Butler was charged with shoplifting $250 in merchandise from the Butler Commons’ Walmart shortly before 5 p.m. June 18. She is charged with retail theft.11:48 a.m. June 20 — Scott A. Locke, 45, of Lyndora was caught with a stamp bag of suspected heroin after he was arrested on warrants on Meadow Avenue. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on the warrants.Police subsequently charged Locke with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.5:41 p.m. June 20 — Samantha A. Getz, 27, of Cranberry Township drove a car off a dead-end road, onto a driveway and through a yard in the 400 block of New Castle Road before ending at a wood line.Getz told police that she was following her global positioning system device and not keeping her eyes on the road when she crashed.Police noted she also failed to see a “No Outlet” sign. Police cited her for careless driving.
Grove City PoliceSunday — A number of items were stolen from three vehicles in the 500 block of South Center Street.Taken in the thefts between 12:30 and 7:30 a.m. were two screened canopies in black bags, a cheetah print back pack with a ladies swim suit, towel and sunglasses, and a brown leather pouch.Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.Sunday — Two thieves, both believed to be youths, are suspected of breaking into a vehicle in the 600 block of Stewart Avenue.A neighbor reported seeing two white boys taking items from the vehicle. The pair ran away before police got there.One of the suspects is described as being 5 feet, 8 inches. He was wearing shorts and a black and red hooded sweat shirt. No description of the other suspect was available.Anyone with information is asked to call police.10:16 p.m. Thursday — Sidney Warner, 24, of Sandy Lake was arrested following a street fight with another man on Lincoln Avenue at North Broad Street. Police charged Warner with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.The other man, Kenneth Miller Jr, 20, of Harrisville, was charged with disorderly conduct.Thursday — Between 35 and 40 textbooks were taken from the Hall of Arts & Letters at Grove City College. The theft happened between 10:30 a.m. and 12:27 p.m. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
State Police, Butler8:38 p.m. Sunday — Diane McAllister, 35, of Ocala, Fla., was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township.A police-certified drug recognition expert evaluated McAllister before she was taken to an unspecified hospital for a blood test. Charges are pending toxicology results.
State Police, Kittanning8:55 a.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Rosemary A. Trenski, 69, of Freeport was rear-ended by another car driven by a woman who allegedly was distracted while on a cell phone on Route 28 just south of exit 16 in Harrison Township, Allegheny County.The other driver, Jenny A. Sellner, 27, of Pittsburgh, was cited for careless driving.
State Police, MercerJune 22 — A thief stole a dirt bike that was tied down on the bed of a pickup truck at a home on Browntown Road in Liberty Township, Mercer County. The green and white bike, valued at $1,250, is a 2010 Kawasaki KLX110. The theft happened between 12:30 and 9 a.m.Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-662-6162.
