JACKSON TWP — State police have charged a New York state man with child endangerment and driving under the influence after he was stopped by an officer on Route 19 in May.

Raymond McCormick, 50, of Watertown, N.Y., is charged with endangering the welfare of a child, driving under the influence and a myriad of traffic violations.

Police filed the charges Wednesday.

Arresting officer Christopher Cialella stopped McCormick on May 17, after noticing that he was driving erratically on Route 19, according to court documents.

Upon pulling him over, Cialella discovered an alcohol odor coming from the vehicle as well as McCormick’s two young children, documents say.

McCormick admitted that he had been drinking Mike’s Hard Lemonade, documents say, and after administering a sobriety test, Cialella transported McCormick to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood draw.

McCormick refused a blood draw at the hospital, according to police.
