BUTLER TWP — A two-vehicle accident resulted in minor injuries around 6:15 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Evans City and S. Eberhart roads, according to Butler Township Volunteer Fire District 3 captain Dexter Keibler.

A woman, of Mars, said she was driving a Kia Sportage on Evans City Road when she had the right of way going through a green light.

She said a woman, who was driving a Chrysler Plymouth in the opposite direction, attempted to turn left, and the Sportage collided with the Plymouth.

Keibler said the woman driving the Plymouth suffered a minor injury, and was taken by Butler Ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital. The name of the woman was not available.

The woman driving the Sportage, who wished to remain unnamed, said she had chest pain but was not taken to a hospital.

Both vehicles sustained severe front-end damage and were towed from the scene. The Butler Township Police Department and the Butler Township Volunteer Fire District 3 responded to the accident.

Traffic was blocked off for about an hour while debris from the road was cleared and emergency responders waited for the cars to be towed.
