BC3 graduation speaker slated

Brian White

Butler School District Superintendent Brian White will be the speaker at Butler County Community College’s 50th commencement on May 16.

BC3 President Nick Neupauer announced at Wednesday’s board of trustees meeting that White will address the graduating class at the ceremony at the main campus in Butler Township.

“I’m very humbled and very honored,” White said when contacted after the trustees meeting.

White, who has been superintendent since Sept. 1, said the invitation to address the graduates came as a surprise.

“I was very surprised. It was very nice of Dr. Neupauer to reach out. In the short time I’ve been here I’ve come to realize what a wonderful resource BC3 is.”

Neupauer said he has worked with White on several endeavors and recognized his leadership abilities.

“I’ve been so impressed with Dr. White,” Neupauer said. “He’s a great leader and a great speaker.”

Ray Steffler, trustees chairman, said White is a good superintendent and the Butler School District students are vital to BC3.

“I think he’s a good addition to Butler. It’s his students that we depend on. I think it’s a good community with BC3. I’m looking forward to hearing what he has to say.”
