Police: Cocaine, heroin, cash, guns found during drug raid

This is some of the evidence the Butler County Task Force reports it seized during a drug raid Saturday at a home on Rowan Road in Cranberry Township.

A 61-year-old Cranberry Township man was arrested on felony drug charges after the Butler County Drug Task Force raided his home Saturday and allegedly found cocaine, heroin and marijuana, authorities said.

Task force officers said they also turned up suspected drug trafficking items, hundreds of dollars in currency and four loaded firearms at Barry L. Graef's home on Rowan Road.

Graef, in a later interview, according to investigators, admitted to selling narcotics “to pay for the repairs to his vehicle.”

District Judge Lewis Stoughton arraigned him on charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. He is free on $20,000 bail.

Officers said they went to Graef's home around 10:30 a.m. and executed a search warrant, which followed an investigation of several weeks.

The search, according to charging documents, turned up 31.7 grams of suspected cocaine in a plastic bag and 9.4 grams of cocaine in nine plastic bags.Additionally, officers said, the search yielded 10 stamp bags of suspected heroin and/or fentanyl and 30.5 grams of marijuana or “marijuana-based narcotics,” such as “moon rocks” and THC wax. “Moon rocks” are cannabis buds dipped in or sprayed with hash oil. Also allegedly found was a digital scale, drug-packaging materials, other drug contraband, about $1,050 and four loaded firearms — a pistol, two rifles and a shotgun. The items seized during the search, documents stated, “are consistent with a person selling and/or distributing heroin, cocaine and marijuana.”Graef's preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for July 24. Online court records did not list an attorney for him.
