[naviga:h3]BC3 hosts virtual open house[/naviga:h3]
Butler County Community College and BC3@ Cranberry will hold a virtual open house Wednesday intended to introduce prospective students to BC3’s 77 programs.
BC3 will hold its virtual open house at 2 p.m. May 13 for prospective students seeking to enroll at BC3’s main campus in Butler Township or at BC3 @ Cranberry in Cranberry Township. Prospective students can register for the event at bc3.edu/open-house, and can also apply free to BC3 from May 8 to May 17 at bc3.edu/apply.
BC3 representatives will answer questions about BC3’s career, transfer and certificate programs, financial aid, flexible course scheduling options, high school programming and scholarships. Prospective BC3 students can email questions to admissions@bc3.edu.
[naviga:h3]Historic Harmony lists cancellations[/naviga:h3]
HARMONY — Historic Harmony announced quilting is canceled for the time being, its home and garden tour is postponed and the July 2 concert is canceled.
The telephone conference board meeting is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday.
The quilt raffle drawing is set for May 26. Raffle tickets are due May 22.
The Harmony Museum Shop is closed, but the shop is selling select merchandise online at the museum website: HarmonyMuseum.org.

Mars Area Centennial School students joined in a Virtual Talent Show, posted online on the school website.
Several members of Girls Scout Troop 26625, including sixth-graders Sarah Arnold, Olivia Dickson, Rebecca Hockman, Cora Huffman, Aubree Machi and Gracie McCarty, introduce the Virtual Talent Show. The show features fifth-and sixth-graders offering a variety of vocal performances, dance routines and other acts.
Performers include sixth-graders Charley Coker and Carter Snyder; and fifth-graders Alexis Abbey, Vivian Black, Chester Harsch, Brooklyn Huffman, Isabella Lippke, Hailey Madison-Gaines, Mia Mirabile, Nathan Murphy, Faith Pearson, Jenna Smith, Hali Spanik and Kieran Teboul.
Mars Area Centennial School’s teachers and their families also share their dance talents as part of a “Blinding Lights” Dance Challenge.

North Hills Genealogists will host a free live online presentation May 18 for aspiring family historians.
“The Imperfect Genealogist” will begin at 6:45 p.m. with Janine Adams. The presentation is designed to help people who are interested in delving into their family histories.
“If worrying about being perfect gets in the way of your research, this lecture is for you,” Adams said in a news release.
Adams, described as a “professional organizer with a passion for genealogy,” is the author of a blog called Organize Your Family History, devoted to the topic of family ancestry.
