[naviga:h3]SR youth wrestlers in state tournament[/naviga:h3]

SLIPPERY ROCK — Three Slippery Rock youth wrestlers have qualified for the Pennsylvania Junior Championships Saturday and Sunday at the Petersen Events Center.

Zachary Turberville at 90 pounds and Conner Metheny at 80 pounds qualified in the 10-under division while Sam Caton, 65 pounds, qualified in the 8-under division.

Slippery Rock’s wrestlers compete in Area 6 and this trio placed among the top two in their respective weight classes at the area tourney to qualify for the state tourney. The top 28 wrestlers in the state at each weight class will be competing this weekend.

[naviga:h3]SRU’s Till receives all-region honors[/naviga:h3]

SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University forward Micah Till was named second-team All-Atlantic Region this season despite missing the final seven games of the year due to a fractured knee.

Till averaged 21 points and 10 rebounds per game. He also blocked 45 shots and averaged 2.1 steals per game.
