P-R nets 1st PIAA football crown
HERSHEY — Phil Jurkovec threw for 200 yards and a touchdown, ran for 88 yards and four scores Saturday night in leading Pine-Richland to a 41-21 victory over St. Joseph Prep in the PIAA Class 6A football title game at Hersheypark Stadium.
The Notre Dame recruit helped the Rams (16-0) secure the school’s first-ever state football championship.
Two-time defending PIAA champion St. Joseph Prep (13-1) had its 27-game winning streak snapped and lost four fumbles.

Quaker Valley 41, Middletown 24 — Quaker Valley (14-1) rolled to the state title behind a strong running game.
Jordan Taylor ruhed for 147 yards and two touchdowns while quarterback Ricky Guss rushed for 97 yards and threw for 104.
