Butler PoliceTuesday — Mitchell W. Hollobaugh, 33, of Butler Township was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia stemming from a traffic stop at 10:08 p.m. Feb. 11 at West New Castle Street and Sixth Avenue.Police said an officer spotted a crack pipe on the floor next to the feet of Hollobaugh, who was a back seat passenger.2:45 p.m. Monday — Michael W. Roman, 39, of Slippery Rock was arrested on a warrant after police found him slumped over on a retaining wall in the 300 block of North Washington Street.Police said Roman admitted he was under the influence of Suboxone, according to court documents. He was searched and found with three empty bags of suspected heroin. He is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness.He was placed in the Butler County Prison on the warrant.
Grove City Police11:52 p.m. Tuesday — Boyce F. Cubarney, 19, of Zelienople and Matthew Schwartz, 19, of Prosperity, Washington County, were caught with a small bag of suspected marijuana and a water bong at the fishing dock along Greenwood Drive.Police said both teenagers were arrested and charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.9:26 a.m. Tuesday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Elmer T. Allen, 78, of Mercer and a pickup truck driven by Rebecca C. Liese, 31, of Greenville crashed at South Center and West Pine streets.Police said Allen, who suffered minor cuts to his hand, was cited for a red light violation.
State Police, ButlerTuesday — Benyocet C. Ramos, 36, of Butler was arrested stemming from a suspected weekend shoplifting incident at a Clearview Mall store in Center Township.Ramos is accused of altering the price tags on three clothing items and a set of cookware about 8 p.m. Saturday, according to court documents. The total loss in the alleged crime was $186.Ramos was arraigned on a misdemeanor charge of retail theft and placed in the Butler County Prison on $25,000 bail.The bail amount was set, authorities said, because he is a native of Mexico and he had no identification.2:02 p.m. Monday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Jack G. Hay, 83, of Prospect and a car driven by Deborah A. Morgan, 61, of Kittanning collided at Route 356 and Neupert Road in Jefferson Township. No one was injured but both vehicles had to be towed.March 3 — A thief stole unspecified items worth $55 from a car in Portersville after breaking its driver's side window. The theft happened between March 1 and 3 while the car was at the Portersville park and ride facility Route 488 near Interstate 79.
State Police, Kittanning6:55 p.m. Monday — No headlights at night was blamed for a two-vehicle wreck that left one person injured in East Franklin Township. Ivan J. Hooks, 83, of Adrian, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to ACMH Hospital in East Franklin Township with minor injuries.Police said Hooks was traveling west on Butler Road and when he attempted to turn left on to Wible Road, his car struck a sport utility vehicle traveling east on Butler Road. Police said Hooks was unable to see the SUV, driven by Rachel L. Uncapher, 18, of Worthington, because its head lights were not on.The teen, police said, was cited for a lighting violation.
State Police, Mercer4:22 a.m. Monday — Wayne A. Pizor, 63, of Portersville lost control of his tractor-trailer and cashed into a median on Interstate 80 on Findley Township. The rig rolled onto its driver's side and slid about 60 feet.March 1 — Someone forced open the door of a vacant apartment on Deer Path in Liberty Township, Mercer County. Nothing was taken, and it did not appear that anyone entered the apartment.
