SAINT VINCENT — Knoch graduate Celia Knappenberger, a freshman on the Saint Vincent College softball team, has been named Presidents’ Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week.
Knappenberger had two wins and a save last week, striking out 21 in 25 innings. She tossed a five-hit shutout in a 3-0 win over Juniata.
Knappenberger leads the PAC with a 1.49 earned run average and 40 strikeouts.
[naviga:h3]Mars’ Stasioski places at Y meet[/naviga:h3]
UNIVERSITY PARK — Mars eighth-grader Natalie Stasioski swam a leg of the 200-yard freestyle relay that placed seventh at the Pennsylvania State YMCA Championships last weekend at Penn State University.
The foursome swam a time of 1 minute, 42.44 seconds for the Rose E, Schneider Family YMCA team.
Other Mars students swam and placed among the top 20 in their respective events at the meet: freshman Jacob Harsch, eighth-grader Leo Saver, sophomore Abigail Scott, junior Caroline Stamper and sixth-grader Sean Muchnok.
