Police seek help in thefts from vehicles

CONCORD TWP — State police are asking the public for assistance in solving recent thefts from unlocked vehicles in the township.

No suspects have been identified, but police believe the same person or persons are responsible.

Early Tuesday morning, four vehicles were entered at a trailer park on Weeping Willow Lane. Property was taken from three of those vehicles. The stolen items included $40 in currency and clothing.

Also early Tuesday, a thief took gift cards from a vehicle on Cola Lane. On nearby Linde Lane, a surveillance camera captured the not-so-clear image of a would-be thief unsuccessfully trying to get into a locked vehicle.

Police described the suspect as a white man in his mid-30s to 40s. He appeared to be about 5 feet, 10 inches tall and 200 pounds or more with brown hair.

He was wearing a black coat with a blue undershirt, jeans and possibly sneakers.

During the early morning of Nov. 28, three vehicles were broken into while parked near homes on Chelden Lane. Stolen from those vehicles were two wallets containing personal information, 10 checks, a debit card and a $50 bill.

Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.

Police, meanwhile, remind residents to lock their vehicles and hide their valuables.
