Butler’s girls finished third and the boys second, according to head coach Mike Seybert. Avery Sintz (11th, 21:11.4) and Macie McLister (12th, 21:35.4) gave the girls team three runners in the top 20, and Camden Schaeffer (ninth, 17:13.5) and Justin Sellinger (12th, 17:38.6) did the same for the boys, who were without two of their top runners in Brendan Eicher and Alex Motonis.

Marcus Martin Jr. threw a 24-yard touchdown pass to E’Montee Taylor in the third quarter, but that was all the offense Summit Academy could muster in a 14-6 home loss to Springdale.

The two-point conversion failed with 4:56 left in the period, and Springdale responded with an insurance TD nearly three minutes later.

Martin finished 6 of 17 for 104 yards threw the air, with Taylor accounting for two receptions for 64 yards. Kamarii Coleman had six carries for 48 yards to lead the Knights (0-2) on the ground.
