Woman charged with resisting arrest
A Butler woman allegedly pushed, kicked and tried to bite an officer while being arrested. Butler City Police charged Christina M. Lang, 28, with felony aggravated assault on an officer as well as misdemeanor charges of simple assault and resisting arrest. She was placed in Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail.
According to charging documents, police went to the home of Lang's grandmother where the grandmother said she witnessed Lang assault her mother.Police said they found Lang and her mother upstairs, where Lang was moving erratically around the room. “Lang was pacing back and forth, could not sit still and kept swinging her arms around,” the investigating officer wrote.According to reports, the mother told officers Lang had grabbed her by the arm and punched her in the face. Police said they saw injuries on the mother consistent with that account.Police said they asked Lang to put her hands behind her back and she pushed them away as they tried to handcuff her. As the encounter continued, Lang allegedly also kicked an officer directly in the stomach and at one point, while being pinned down, allegedly grabbed at an officer's holstered Taser.According to documents, Lang did not calm down even after being placed into handcuffs.“While being escorted, Lang continued resisting by pulling (and) pushing away, kicking and did bite (the officer's) jacket,” according to the report. “Lang was placed in a police vehicle, where she began kicking and slamming her head inside of the back seat.”Lang's preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Monday before District Judge William Fullerton.
