Joseph Tomsey

Joseph C. Tomsey Sr. of Butler celebrated his 90th birthday with his family.

Tomsey was born Feb. 17, 1924, in Butler. He has been married to Joan E. Tomsey for 60 years.

He has four children, Joe Tomsey, Judy Mohan and Jim Tomsey, all of Butler, and Janice Callender of Cowansville.

He also has eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Through the years he worked at Deal’s Bakery, in a coal mine, at the VA Hospital and Pullman Standard. He retired from Agway after 25 years.

He served in the U.S. Army 63rd Infantry Division during World War II and received a Purple Heart.

Tomsey is a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Herman.
