More warrants issued for man

Police link him to 2 more cases

BUTLER TWP — A man already wanted for robbing a discount store is now accused in two more criminal cases, including trying to drill his way into a car wash money machine.

Butler Township police obtained a pair of arrest warrants Wednesday for 41-year-old Shawn Eric Graham, who they said also shoplifted a television and Kitty Litter with the help of another man.

Just last week, township police got a felony warrant for Graham's arrest in the Dec. 18 robbery of the Dollar General store at the Butler Commons shopping center.

Police said the suspect has no known address, and they do not know where he could be.

In one case filed Wednesday, Graham is accused of using a power tool around 10 p.m. Dec. 16 to try to drill out the locking mechanism of the automated cashier machine at Morgan's Car Wash on New Castle Road.

He did not crack into the machine, but he caused about $120 in damage, police said.

The alleged crime was captured on surveillance video. Police identified Graham in the video while investigating the robbery that occurred two days later at the Dollar General.

Investigators said he was wearing the same clothing when he committed both crimes.

He is charged with attempted theft and criminal mischief in the suspected car wash caper.

The other recently filed case was for an alleged shoplifting incident around 6 p.m. Jan. 3 at the Butler Commons' Walmart. On Wednesday, police also charged Ricky D. Baum, 62, of Butler Township in the case.

Surveillance video helped solve that crime too, according to investigators.

Police suspect Baum placed a 50-inch TV, Kitty Litter, windshield washer fluid and two bags of candy, valued at a combined $371, into a shopping cart. He pushed the cart into the garden center and left it near the exit doors.

Next, police said, Graham walked into the store and took possession of the cart, which he pushed out the doors. But a store employee stopped the would-be getaway, and Graham allegedly fled.

Both suspects are charged with retail theft and conspiracy.

In the Dollar General robbery, police allege Graham walked into the store just before 7:30 p.m. and told the cashier at the counter, “Give it all up or I'm going to end it all.”

Police said he insinuated that he had a weapon in his waistband, but none was seen. No one was injured.

The cashier opened the register and handed over $468.71, police said. The robber ran out of the store and headed toward the Target store and North Duffy Road.

Authorities later posted photos of the suspect, taken from a security camera, on the department's Facebook page. The posting generated a tip that subsequently helped lead to Graham's identification, police said.

He is charged with robbery, terroristic threats, theft, receiving stolen property and simple assault.

Anyone with information about Graham's whereabouts is asked to call police at 724-285-9600.
