Miller's, Selfridge honored by group

Butler Downtown has named Miller’s Quality Meats as its annual Business of the Year award winner.

The award will be presented atButler Downtown’s annual public meeting on Nov. 12.

The group said in a release that Miller’s Quality Meats is a long-established business on Main Street that has recently undertaken an expansion in its building, product line and customer base.

The nonprofit Main Street program also will honor Dean Selfridge as the volunteer of the year.

Selfridge has been involved in numerous projects with the organization, including serving on the design committee and as co-chairman of the promotions committee.

The group said he was instrumental in making the Farm Market in the West New Castle Street Plaza a reality this past summer. He was involved in the planning of the “Spring Fling” mixer at the Art Center and organized city firefighters to help with the plantings for the Becky Smith Memorial Garden at the Little Red School House.

Past President Bob Dandoy also will be recognized.

The meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. at the Grand Ballroom on Main Street.

Jeff Double, owner of All About Reclaimed, will be the guest speaker.
