Butler Police

10:21 p.m. Sunday — Jeffrey L. Kyles-Edge, 37, was arrested on charges he assaulted his wife during a domestic dispute at their apartment on the 200 block of Franklin Street.

The alleged victim, Tara Kyles-Edge, told police the defendant grabbed her by the throat and tossed her to the ground, according to court documents. She suffered minor injuries.

Jeffrey Kyles-Edge admitted getting into an argument with his wife but denied assaulting her, police said. He was arraigned on charges of simple assault and public drunkenness, and placed in Butler County Prison on $2,000 bail.

Friday — David M. Courson, 31, allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, Tina Davies, during a domestic dispute at his home on the 300 block of Brown Avenue. He is accused of punching Davies in the face and pushing her to the ground.

The woman suffered cuts to her lip and arm, according to court documents. Courson is charged with simple assault.

Butler Twp Police

11:30 p.m. Sunday — An Allegheny County boy was arrested for violating a protection from abuse order at the Fairfield Inn on Route 8 north. Police said the boy, from West Mifflin, was found at the motel with a female who previously had been issued the PFA.

The suspect, who police did not identify, is charged with indirect criminal contempt.

5:42 p.m. Sunday — Gladys Embroski, 87, of Butler was hurt when the vehicle she was driving collided with another vehicle on South Benbrook Road at Greenwood Drive. She was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

Police cited Embroski for a stop sign violation. Dustin Banner, 21, of West Sunbury was the other driver.

7:02 a.m. Saturday — Jesse Eaton, 20, of Butler allegedly assaulted a woman during a domestic dispute at a home on Old Plank Estates. The suspect was gone when officers got there.

Police later obtained an arrest warrant for Eaton, who is charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct.

7:51 a.m. Friday — A 9,000-pound Badlands winch was stolen overnight from West Central Equipment on Route 8 south. Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call police at 724-285-9600.

Grove City Police

Saturday — A brown leather wallet containing a large amount of currency was stolen from the center console of a vehicle at a home on the 600 block of Stewart Avenue. The theft happened between 10:30 p.m. Friday and 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

Thursday — A gray Apple iPod classic and a checkbook were stolen from a vehicle at a home in the 400 block of Oakland Avenue.

State Police, Butler

Wednesday — Richard C. Double III, 24, of Lyndora was charged with drunken driving stemming from a July 4 traffic stop in Butler Township. Police smelled a “strong odor” of alcohol coming from the suspect, who later failed field sobriety tests, according to court documents.

A subsequent breath test showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.254 percent, more than three times the state's legal limit, documents said.

Double is charged with driving under the influence, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.

State Police, Kittanning

July 26 — A grandfather clock, Sears Craftsman riding lawn mower and Barbie Dolls were stolen in a burglary at a home on Adrian Sherrett Road in Washington Township, Armstrong County. The break-in happened between Feb. 28 and July 26.

State Police, Mercer

6:39 p.m. Sunday — Jeffrey J. McEvoy, 56, of Aspinwall, Allegheny County, lost control of his pickup truck and struck two mailboxes before hitting several small trees and shrubs along Route 173 in Worth Township, Mercer County. Police cited him for careless driving.

Wednesday — Police filed misdemeanor drug charges against Shafic Z. Fletcher, 21, of Philadelphia after he was found June 16 with marijuana in his hotel room at the Comfort Inn in Springfield Township. Fletcher is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Wednesday — An unknown thief stole unspecified items from a pickup truck in Pine Township, Mercer County. The victim, a 23-year-old Volant man, told police he left the truck on the side of Mine Road after running out of gas. The theft happened between July 27 and Wednesday.

July 21 — A set of hedge pruners were stolen from outside a barn at a home on South Vernon Road in Fairview Township, Mercer County. The pruners, which have wooden handles with green grips, were taken between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

State Police, New Castle

12:45 p.m. Sunday — An Ohio teenager was accidentally shot while target shooting with several others on Rolling Farm Lane in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. Brianna McNees, 19, of New Waterford was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh with non-life threatening injuries.

McNees, according to a police report, was hit in the left shoulder area by a ricochet shot.

9:50 p.m. Friday — An Ellwood City man faces six traffic tickets after he crashed his sport utility vehicle into the side of a building on Route 488 in Perry Township, Lawrence County. Police said the suspect, 21-year-old Richard M. Vennell, managed to pull his vehicle out of the building and drive away.

Vennell returned to the scene the next day and contacted the property owner about the crash.

Police cited Vennell with hit-and-run, failing to stop and give information after an accident, driving at an unsafe speed, careless driving, disregarding traffic lanes and driving on the wrong side of the road.
