Friday — Police obtained an arrest warrant for Lukus T. Safranek, 23, of Butler on charges he forcibly took a wallet from another man Dec. 2 outside the victim’s apartment in the 300 block of West North Street. The victim told police the wallet contained $60, an Access card, two state identifications and an insurance card. Safranek is charged with robbery.
Friday — David T. Digiacomo, 40, was charged with throwing hedge clippers at and punching a man during an altercation Oct. 19 at his home on the 500 block of North Elm Street. Digiacomo is charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct.
Thursday — Cheyenne Rokosky, 18, of Butler was arrested on charges she assaulted a former boyfriend during a weekend child custody exchange in the 500 block of West Brady Street.
Police said Rokosky about 2:30 p.m. Nov. 2 slapped the man in the face. She also is accused of throwing a woman, who was with the victim, to the ground, hitting her in the head and face, and kicking her in the back.
Rokosky was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment, and released on her own recognizance.
10:28 p.m. Tuesday — Benjamin T. Zellefrow, 40, of Kittanning was allegedly caught with a crack pipe after being arrested on a bench warrant following a traffic stop at North McKean and East Pearl streets. Zellefrow was a passenger in a car that police stopped for a window tint violation. He is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
4:32 a.m. Tuesday — Ryan Z. Wilson, 27, of Butler was allegedly found with crack cocaine and other contraband in the 200 block of Mercer Street. A caller reporting a suspicious vehicle led police to the defendant, court documents said.
A check of Wilson’s personal information determined he was wanted on a bench warrant. He was arrested and a search turned up nearly one gram of suspected crack, document said.
Police later conducted an inventory search of the defendant’s vehicle and found two digital scales, three drug-smoking pipes.
Wilson is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
7:41 Nov. 28 — Police say they had to use a Taser to arrest Daniel J. Murray, 31, during an incident at this apartment on Standard Avenue. Officers had gone to the defendant’s home to serve a mental health warrant, according to court document.
Murray, who was standing in the hallway, refused to give himself up. Instead, he told police, “You guys are going to have to fight me to go with you,” documents said.
When police moved in, the defendant allegedly struggled with them. One of the officers deployed his Taser. Murray was subsequently handcuffed.
He is charged in the incident with resisting arrest.

Thursday — Jeremy J. Tomsey, 32, of Butler was charged with having marijuana stemming from a traffic stop about 1:05 p.m. Dec. 2 on Whitestown Road. He is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, driving a vehicle without valid inspection and failing to carry his vehicle registration card.
Thursday — Police charged two people with having drug contraband in connection with a traffic stop about 9:50 p.m. Dec. 1 on Route 8 south. The defendants — Ricardo D. Bryant, 64, of Butler and Iesha K. Royster, 26, of Pittsburgh — are both charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Additionally, police cited Bryant for driving a vehicle without valid inspection and a rear lighting violation.
[naviga:h3]Grove City Police[/naviga:h3]
5:37 p.m. Dec. 2 — Deborah J. Smith, 49, of Grove City was arrested for driving under the influence in the borough. Police said they stopped her after a traffic light violation. Smith is charged with DUI and failing to stop at a red light.
7:42 p.m. Nov. 30 — A car driven by Julie Depew, 49, of Grove City struck another vehicle at East Main Street and Greenwood Drive. Unika Reviere, 24, of Johnstown, Cambria County was the other driver.
1 a.m. Nov. 29 — A Virginia teenager was caught with suspected marijuana and other contraband following a traffic stop in the borough. Robert J. Serafin, 18, of Leesburg, a passenger in the vehicle, is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and six counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
11:16 a.m. Nov. 25 — A car driven by Alex Campbell, 21, of Grove City traveled onto an embankment on Martin Street at Cedar Avenue. The car had to be towed. Police said no charges were filed in the accident.
[naviga:h3]Butler County Sheriff’s Office[/naviga:h3]
Nov. 15 — Gavin S. Kelly, 22, was charged with having marijuana stemming from his earlier arrest on a bench warrant at his Clearfield Township home.
Sheriff’s deputies Nov. 7 went to Kelly’s home on Dalmagro Road. During a pat-down search, according to court documents, deputies found a small baggie of suspected marijuana. He was placed in the Butler County Prison later that day for the warrant.
He also faces a new charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana.
[naviga:h3]State Police, Butler[/naviga:h3]
7:41 p.m. Dec. 8 — William John McCurdy, 50, of Butler is charged with felony fleeing and eluding, recklessly endangering and 12 traffic violations after he refused to pull over for police who were attempting to conduct a traffic stop on him.
6:11 p.m. Dec. 7 — A car driven by Russel P. Douthett, 42, of Butler barrel rolled after Douthett lost control of the car on a curve along Branchton Road in Cherry Township. The car finally stopped on the road in an upright position. The car was disabled and police suspect Douthett was injured but he refused medical treatment.
7:40 p.m. Dec. 6 — A. Bennett Wadlow, 63, of Gibsonia was unscathed when his car slid on ice on Route 308 in Cherry Township, pinballing into two trees — the first tree hit in the front, the second in the rear. The car was disabled.
5 p.m. Dec. 6 — Police said that while turning her vehicle onto Kiester Road from Cameron Drive, Kylee M. Stefura, 20, of Koppel, Beaver County, failed to yield to traffic on Kiester Road and a car driven by Elliot T. Peterman, 19, of Pittsburgh hit Stefura’s car. Stefura was uninjured, according to police, but Peterman had to be transported to Grove City Medical Center.
Nov. 28 — Police charged a New Castle man with having drugs stemming from a traffic stop earlier in the month in Butler. David A. Querriera, 57, was stopped about 3 a.m. Nov. 4 on Hansen Avenue for having a suspended driver’s license.
Ten Suboxone strips and a clonazepam pill were found in the vehicle during a consent search, according to court documents. Police said Querriera did not have a prescription for the drugs. Police said they also seized a scale with suspected cocaine residue on it and a glass tube.
Querriera is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count possession of drug paraphernalia. He also was cited for driving during suspension.
[naviga:h3]State Police, Clarion[/naviga:h3]
Thursday — Police reported that someone damaged a 62-year-old Butler man’s water system at a campground in East Brady.
The unknown vandal is suspected of removing the faceplate and damaging the control head of the system at the camp along East Brady River on East Second Street. The incident happened between Nov. 19 and 24. Damage was estimated at $500.
6:45 p.m. Wednesday — A Rimersburg teenager was caught attempting to retrieve a pickup truck on Angus Lane in Potter Township. Police said the owner earlier that day warned the 16-year-old boy he was not allowed there. The teen, according to a police report, was cited for trespass.
4:35 p.m. Nov. 27 — A sport utility vehicle driven by Shirley J. Aaron, 67, of Rimersburg struck a deer on Route 322 in Elk Township. Neither Aaron nor her passenger were hurt but the badly damaged vehicle had to be towed.
[naviga:h3]State Police, Kittanning[/naviga:h3]
Dec. 2 — An unknown thief stole the license plate from a 60-year-old Worthington man’s vehicle on Craigsville Road in West Franklin Township. The theft happened between July 1 and Sunday.
Nov. 30 — An unknown hit-and-run driver sometime overnight struck a stop sign at Glade Run Road and Route 422 west in East Franklin Township. Police said red debris from the vehicle’s taillight was found near the sign.
A passing motorist Saturday morning noticed the sign was down and notified police. In turn, police contacted the state Department of Transportation to fix the sign.
2:07 p.m. Nov. 28 — Robert E. Croyle, 28, of Adrian was arrested on two bench warrants following a traffic stop on Route 28 south about one mile south of Exit 18 in South Buffalo Township. Police said Croyle was a passenger in the vehicle. He is accused of providing police with multiple bogus identities when questioned after the stop. Croyle was placed in the Armstrong County Jail. He is facing a charge of false identification to law enforcement authorities stemming from the traffic stop.
5 p.m. Nov. 27 — A pickup truck driven by Brad R. Ewings, 28, of Worthington struck a sport utility vehicle on West Main Street in Dayton, Armstrong County. The crash sent the SUV driven by Tammy S. Solley, 45, of Dayton onto an embankment and on its side. Police cited Ewings for disregarding traffic lanes.
12:45 a.m. Nov. 22 — A Clearfield County man was caught with suspected drugs during a DUI checkpoint in Butler County. The defendant, Patrick J. Edner, 21, of DuBois, was a passenger in the car that was stopped on Route 28 north in Buffalo Township. A search turned up the drugs, which Edner admitted were his, according to a police report. He is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
