Aides Olivia Muller Eakin
Aides Olivia Muller Eakin, 81, of New Castle died at 11 p.m. Thursday at the Shenango Presbyterian Care Center.
She was born Oct. 25, 1925, in Lennox, S.D., to Jacob Muller and Edith May Johnson.
Mrs. Eakin was married to Earl Lynn Eakin on April 4, 1948.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She received her bachelor's degree from Youngstown State University and her master's degree as a reading specialist from Slippery Rock University.
She was a reading specialist for the Butler School District for 25 years before retiring in 1992.
She was a member of the Phi Rho Pi national honorary speakers sorority; past president and treasurer of Lawrence County Soroptimist Club; and a retired member of the Butler County Soroptimist Club. She also was a member of the Daughters of The American Revolution, General Richard Butler chapter.
She was survived by a sister, Juliet Crabbs of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Dr. Raymond L. Muller and the Rev. Henry N. Muller.
<B>Eakin </B>—<B> </B>Friends of Ardes Olivia Muller Eakin, who died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>R. Cunningham Funeral Home</B>, 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. Funeral services will by held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Crabbs officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in New Castle.Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
