Cataldi nets 5-inning no-hitter for Freeport
Ben Cataldi baffled Summit Academy hitters to the tune of a five-inning no-hitter as the Freeport baseball team crushed the Knights 10-0 Friday.
The only Summit base runner reached base because of a Yellowjacket fielding error. Cataldi struck out nine in the win.
Kory Micholas had a double and a triple for Freeport (2-4, 2-2).
In other action:
Josh Edwards homered, doubled and singled, but Butler's pitchers struggled again in a 10-7 loss to North Hills.

Kyle Hilliard's sixth-inning single plated Jeremy Craig and Adam Milanovich to give Union a two-run lead it would not surrender in a 4-2 victory over Moniteau. The Warriors' Matt Vinca homered and Josh Warburton doubled three times.
Dustin Caylor's four RBI led Grove City to a 13-8 defeat of Sharon. Jesse Alfreno picked up the win for the Eagles (3-1, 3-0), pitching five innings and surrendering just one earned run.
Slippery Rock rallied from a 2-0 deficit in the top of the seventh inning with a five-run outburst to topple Sharpsville, 5-2.
