Butler PoliceTuesday — Police obtained an arrest warrant for Erika L. Celestin, 33, who is accused of assaulting her boyfriend, Harold Allen, during a domestic dispute Jan. 14 at their apartment in the 600 block of West Penn Street.Allen told police that he and Celestin got into an argument after she returned home intoxicated. She allegedly hit Allen on the left side of the face, leaving a red mark, according to court documents.He called 911 but by the time police got there, Celestin was gone. She is charged with simple assault.Tuesday — Lauren E. Dunmire, 18, of Butler was caught with suspected drug contraband while police were investigating an apparent overdose at an apartment in the 300 block of West Jefferson Street.Officers found empty stamp bags of suspected heroin and a used syringe in a garbage can in the bathroom. While speaking to Dunmire, police also noticed a syringe sticking out of her purse.According to court documents, she admitted injecting heroin in the bathroom. She is charged with a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Grove City PoliceWednesday — A brown canvas backpack with unspecified contents was found near East Pine Street and West Washington Boulevard. The owner can claim the property at the police station at 337 E. Pine St.Tuesday — An unknown thief stole a woman’s wallet, which contained cash and various credit and debit cards, from a vehicle in the 600 block of Barmore Avenue. The theft happened between 7 p.m. Monday and 6:50 a.m. Tuesday. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.

State Police, KittanningTuesday — A ring was found on the floor of the lobby at the police barracks in East Franklin Township. The owner can claim the ring by calling police at 724-543-2011.

State Police, New Castle10:35 p.m. Jan. 10 — Joseph W. McLaughlin, 36, of New Castle was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his car crashed into a guardrail on River Road just east of Vine Way in Perry Township, Lawrence County.
