Tuesday — Police charged Brian D. Lambing, 40, no known address, with selling a gold ring previously reported stolen from a home in the 200 block of Cecilia Street. The ring, which was sold July 3 for $300 at a gold store in Center Township, was later recovered, court documents said. Lambing is charged with receiving stolen property.Tuesday — A 25-year-old woman reported that an Apple iPod, valued at $500, was stolen overnight from an unlocked vehicle at her home in the 300 block of North Cliff Street.11:28 p.m. Monday — Jeremy Jose Rivera, 23, of Butler was arrested after he allegedly attacked his girlfriend, Leanna Davis, during an argument at a home in the 500 block of State Street.Davis said the couple's argument started over keys to a vehicle, according to court documents, and escalated into a fight during which Rivera choked her and punched her in the stomach. Police said the woman suffered minor injuries.Rivera was arraigned on a charge of simple assault, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $2,000 bail.12:07 a.m. Sunday — John C. Lefevre, 40, of Butler was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, Carrie-Anne Vandevort, during a domestic dispute at an apartment in the 300 block of West North Street. Vandevort told police that Lefevre placed his hands around her neck and strangled her. Police said the woman suffered minor injuries. Lefevre was arraigned on a charge of simple assault, and released on $5,000 unsecured bail.Aug. 27 — Angela C. Carlson, 22, of Butler was charged with receiving stolen property for allegedly selling two rings reported stolen last month from a home in the 500 block of West New Castle Street. Police suspect Carlson sold the 14-carat rings for $250 last month at an Allegheny County gold store.Aug. 27 — Police charged Justin Lee Lieberum, 30, of Butler with breaking into several cars Aug. 22 in the area of South Church and Vero streets.Police caught Lieberum allegedly rummaging through one car on South Church Street, according to court documents. The suspect, who smelled of alcohol, admitted the car was not his, police said.He is charged with theft from a vehicle, attempted theft of a vehicle and public drunkenness.

10 p.m. Monday — Matthew Allen Jensen, 46, of Grove City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after a two-vehicle collision at East Main and Liberty street. No one was injured in the crash.Sunday — Karen Shoop, 46, of Grove City was cited for permitting three of her dogs to run loose in the 300 block of Poplar Street. Shoop failed to confine the dogs within her property and failed to control her dogs by means of a leash while they were off her property.Thursday — Someone overnight released a dog that was in a kennel in the backyard of a home in the 800 block of Superior Street. The dog is a 2-year-old Labrador retriever/terrier mix. It has a red collar with tags. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.

Monday — Lorianna M. Wise, 25, was arrested after she allegedly assaulted a 25-year-old woman during a domestic dispute at their home at the Brady Hills Estates on Blue Bell Lane in Brady Township. The alleged victim suffered a minor injury.Wise was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment, and released on $5,000 unsecured bail.12:25 a.m. Saturday — A Westmoreland County man was arrested on felony drug charges at a sobriety checkpoint on Route 28 at exit 17 in Buffalo Township.Police said they smelled marijuana coming from the car Tiquel A. Jones, 21, of New Kensington, was riding in.A search of the vehicle turned up a bag of suspected marijuana and five baggies of suspected cocaine in a hidden compartment next to where Jones was seated, court documents said. Nearby, police also turned up a smoking pipe.Jones was arraigned on five counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, a felony. He also is charged with misdemeanor counts of possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.The defendant was placed in the Butler County Prison on $2,500 bail, following arraignment.

Saturday — Richard A. Maus, 51, of Ford City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 28 near exit 16 in South Buffalo Township.
