Falcon Knights run to 36-7 win
Union/A-C Valley has a running game to be reckoned with.
For the second straight week, the Falcon Knights put up impressive rushing numbers, this time in a convincing 36-7 win over host Elk County Catholic.
Union/A-C Valley (4-1, 2-0) amassed 257 yards on 30 carries, with Kylar Culbertson, Caden Rainey and Tanner Merwin each scoring touchdowns via the ground.
Culbertson, who rushed for 150 yards last week, led the effort against the Crusaders with 64 yards on just five carries. Tony Thompson added 50 yards on eight attempts.
Quarterback Luke Bowser completed five passes for 126 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions in the win.
Colton Hoffman led the Falcon Knights' defense with 15 tackles.
Union/A-C Valley travels to Port Allegany for an afternoon game next Saturday.
North Catholic 13, Derry 3 — Zack Rocco completed 15 of 24 passes for 142 yards and a pair of scores as North won a critical game in Big East Conference play at the Mars Athletic Complex.
Nick Maher caught both scoring tosses and finished with six catches for 51 yards.
Eamon Straub led a staunch defensive effort.
East Allegheny 37, Summit Academy 0 — The Knights (0-5, 0-2) remained winless with this road defeat.
