BUTLER TWP — Township police are searching for the driver of an SUV that struck a pedestrian along Route 8 near the Greater Butler Mart Thursday afternoon.

According to police, the white mid-size SUV driven by an unknown white female hit Gerald Anderson, 65, of Lyndora around 3:40 p.m. and fled the scene.

Anderson was taken by Butler Ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries to the right side of his body. His condition was unavailable.

Anyone who witnessed the accident or has any information on the vehicle or its driver is asked to call police at 724-285-9600.
