Butler Twp Police3:33 p.m. Thursday — A vehicle driven by Dennis E. Hodgson, 61, of Butler collided with a vehicle driven by John Bocci, 41, of Butler at the entrance to Butler Commons on North Duffy Road.Police said Hodgson was attempting to turn right onto North Duffy but struck Bocchi’s vehicle, which was turning left into the shopping plaza. Hodgson was cited for careless driving.Thursday — Amanda Dennett, 30, and Kurt Kelly, 38, both of Petrolia, are facing theft charges after allegedly stealing $90 worth of merchandise from Walmart and returning it to the store for gift cards. Dennett was charged with retail theft, conspiracy theft by deception and receiving stolen property, while Kelly was charged with conspiracy theft by deception, receiving stolen property and driving with a suspended license.Dec. 6 — Nicholas Brittner, 27, of Evans City was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct after he was allegedly loud and disruptive at the Rock Ann Haven bar on Greenwood Drive.

State Police, MercerNov. 2 — Three people are facing charges after allegedly making fraudulent returns at Walmart in Pine Township, Mercer County.Police said Amber Kellner of Sandy Lake allegedly stole items on two separate occasions and had Desiree Redmond and Michael Miller, both of Jackson Center, Mercer County, return them.Kellner was charged with retail theft while Redmond and Miller were charged with theft by deception and receiving stolen property.

State Police, FranklinThursday — Andrea Phillips, 44, of Emlenton reported to police unauthorized charges on her bank account, stemming from transactions in the Philadelphia area.

State Police, Kittanning6:24 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Nicholas A. Smicker, 21, of Mars struck the back of a car driven by a 16-year-old Kittanning boy on Route 422 in Kittanning Township, Armstrong County, after the teen’s car hit a deer on the road.Police said Smicker swerved to avoid the teen’s vehicle, but struck the back driver’s side. Both cars suffered moderate damage and were towed. Smicker was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.Friday — Edward S. Yough, 53, of New Castle was charged with DUI following a one-vehicle crash on Route 68 in Bradys Bend Township.Yough suffered minor injuries in the accident and was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital.11:58 p.m. Wednesday — A 31-year-old Punxsutawney man was arrested for suspected DUI and drug possession on Route 28 in North Buffalo Township.Police said heroin was located in the vehicle. Charges are pending lab results.The man was not named.
