Freeport wins opener, 7-4
Nico DeSanti scored three goals Tuesday night as Freeport's varsity hockey team won its season opener, 7-4, over Kiski Area at Center Ice Arena.
Caleb Hoffman added two goals for the Yellowjackets. Addison Stewart and Keith Smilowtiz both had a goal and two assists.
Tyler Lane picked up his first win in goal, stopping 38 of 42 shots.
Freeport plays North Catholic Thursday.
