Scoop in need of improved forecasting

It’s Week 4 and we’re already seeing our first rematches of the season.

The Ol’ Scoopster could use a rematch.

Or a do-over.

It’s been a tough year for Scoop. I went 6-4 last week and I’m 18-10 this season.

That’s a dreadful, dreadful record.

But each week springs anew. I’m 0-0 this week and I just want to be 10-0 by the end of it.

Gotta start somewhere.

Cathedral Prep 37, Butler 15 — The Golden Tornado played inspired the first time these two teams clashed all the way back in Week 1.Cathedral Prep is coming off a stinging loss to McDowell last week and the Ramblers may be eager to get that sour taste out of their mouths. It could be a long night for Butler.

Seneca Valley 24, Central Catholic 22 — The Raaaaiiiiddddeeeers!Yes, I’m not only on the SV bandwagon, I’m driving it and pulling over to pick up more passengers.I’m sold on the Raiders because of their ability to throw with first-year starter Dustin Horn and run with Ethan West. That defense isn’t too shabby, either.

Indiana 18, Knoch 17 — It’s a battle of the triple-option teams. This game could be over in an hour. Both teams are also struggling a bit and both teams desperately need a win.

Mars 31, Armstrong 24 — The Planets took one on the chin last week against Plum.Teddy Ruffner still did Teddy Ruffner things in that game and Armstrong doesn’t have the strongest rush defense. It could be a big night for Teddy and a good bounce-back win for Mars.

North Catholic 43, Burrell 12 — The Trojans are rolling this season with three straight impressive wins.Last week’s 35-14 triumph over East Allegheny was the most impressive of them all.North Catholic shouldn’t have much trouble dispatching Burrell this week to go to 4-0.

Freeport 31, Valley 14 — The Yellowjackets are loving life in the “Fast Lane.”As in sophomore Ben Lane.Freeport moved him from running back to QB last week and all Lane did was rack up a million all-purpose yards.Expect more of the same this week against Valley.

Karns City 40, Punxsutawney 7 — The Gremlins are coming off a disappointing loss to Brookville, to say the least.Karns City always has a way of bouncing back from losses.I feel bad for the Chucks. KC may take out some aggression on Punxsy.

Brookville 40, Moniteau 15 — Brookville excels in the passing game. Moniteau struggles to stop the pass. Bad combination.

Union/A-C Valley 24, Redbank Valley 12 — When I’m not driving the SV bandwagon, I’m behind the wheel of the Falcon Knights’ bandwagon.Beep. Beep. Another win for Union/ACV.

Slippery Rock 26, Sharon 17 — Another Week 1 rematch, the Rockets handled the Tigers in the first meeting.Slippery Rock wins again.

Scoop is treating this week like it’s the fourth quarter against the Atlanta Falcons.
