SLIPPERY ROCK—Slippery Rock High School will present the musical “The Sound of Music” at 7:30 p.m. April 12, 13 and 14 in the high school auditorium, 201 Keister Road.

Tickets are $7 and can be purchased by calling Pam Raisley, SRHS activities director, at 724-794-2960. Tickets are also available in the school activity office from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. April 10 through April 14.

Written by Rogers and Hammerstein, “The Sound of Music” is the classic tale of the Von Trapp family of Austria. and how Maria Ranier transforms the lives of the Von Trapp children, and their father Captain Von Trapp, by bringing joy and music to their lives. The plot also includes their escape from Nazi rule into the Austrian mountains.

The show is being directed by Mary Messer, with Tara Bly Hackwelder as musical director and Heather Groves-Edwards and Kevin Shields, vocal directors.

Les Fine is orchestra and stage crew director, Kevin Shields, the accompanist, Jayme Schreckengost, choreographer, and Lori Geisler, production manager.

Set design directors are Bob Kozar and Doug Benninger with Phyllis Smith as costume director, Adam Murray as sound director, Danielle DePalma, lighting director and Holly Bly, set painting director.

Student assistant directors are Eric Campbell, Ashley Brandon and Christina Huselton with Abby Smith as student choreographer.
