Knoch, Butler compete in mat tourneys
The Knoch youth wrestling team participated in a pair of tournaments over the weekend, which included a first-place performance by Dalton Reed.
Reed pulled out the title for the 12U, 100-pound, double-bracketed division while also placing second at 10U, 105 pounds at the Burrell Novice Tournament Sunday.
Christian Scheller placed second (8U, 65) while Bill Reed (10U, 90) and Jon Martin (12U, 80) finished in third place and Kyle Lauster (10U, 65) and Sam Freyermuth (10U, 85) placed fourth.
On Saturday, Scheller (8U, 65), Eli Reese (10U, 80) and Payne Crouch (12U, 95) all finished with third-place finishes.

At the Franklin Open Tournament Saturday, Butler’s elementary members Levi Donnell won the 8U, 50-pound division while Zach Slomers captured the 10U, 95-pound bracket.
