Tuesday — Police charged Cory T. Eichert, 25, of Butler with shoplifting an Xbox video game valued at $30 from the Kmart store at Pullman Square about 4:15 p.m. Dec. 26. Eichert, who has one prior shoplifting arrest, is charged with a misdemeanor count of retail theft.Dec. 18 — Shannon L. Larimore, 32, of Butler Township was arrested after allegedly shoplifting a 50-inch television and a children's computer tablet from the Kmart store at Pullman Square.Larimore was caught on surveillance video taking the merchandise Dec. 16. She left the store with the items, valued at a combined $560, according to court documents. Police posted the video on the department's Facebook page in hopes of identifying the suspect. Soon after the posting, four people identified her.Officers went to her home but she was not there. They were let inside where they found the suspected stolen merchandise.Larimore, who has one prior shoplifting arrest, was subsequently arraigned on a misdemeanor count of retail theft, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $2,500 bail. She is also jailed on a probation violation.
Friday — Police charged Joseph J. Raab, 19, of Butler with drunken driving stemming from a crash about 8:30 p.m. Dec. 15 on East Rockenstein Avenue. Raab is accused of hitting an unoccupied vehicle that was parked on the side of the road. In addition to driving under the influence, Raab is charged with underage driving and other unspecified traffic violations.4:07 p.m. Wednesday — A vehicle driven by Paul Starr, 80, of Butler rear-ended another vehicle that was slowing for traffic on New Castle Road near the KFC restaurant. No one was hurt, but Starr's vehicle was towed.
7:22 p.m. Saturday — At least one person was hurt when a pickup truck driven by Robert A. Biedenbach Jr., 55, and a sport utility vehicle driven by Nicole A. Mason, 33, both of Butler, collided on Sunset Drive just north of Virginia Lane in Center Township.Mason, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. It was not immediately known if Biedenbach was injured. Both vehicles had to be towed.Biedenbach was cited for disregarding traffic lanes.Friday — A burglar broke into a home on David Street in Prospect and moved several items around but apparently did not take anything. Police did not immediately say if they have any suspects.Dec. 17 — An identity thief used a 62-year-old Slippery Rock woman's credit card information to make several fraudulent purchases at stores in Chicago.
12:48 a.m. Saturday — A 32-year-old Worthington woman, who police did not identify, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at Old Route 66 and Water Street in Manor Township. The woman was initially stopped for having an expired vehicle registration.Friday — A 34-year-old Ford City man and a 57-year-old Avonmore, Westmoreland County, man allegedly stole a 2002 Ford pickup truck from Duda Cable Construction on Dime Road in Parks Township. The pickup was taken between Wednesday and Friday.Police did not identity the suspects.
1:20 a.m. Saturday — A car driven by Ali Ijaz, 25, of Gibsonia struck a deer on Interstate 79 just south of Blacktown Road in Springfield Township.8:40 a.m. Saturday — Icy road conditions were blamed for a rollover wreck on Route 58 in Pine Township, Mercer County, that injured a Harrisville woman.The crash happened when 38-year-old Michelle L. Rossi lost control of her pickup truck and slid off the road about two-tenths of a mile west of Airport Road. The pickup hit a ditch and traveled another 100 feet, rolling over several times.Rossi, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to the Grove City Medical Center with minor injuries.
