Monday — Police charged Rachel M. Roman, 39, of Butler with shoplifting and having a marijuana pipe earlier this month at a store on North Main Street.
Employees at the Dollar General contacted authorities around 1:30 p.m. March 5 to ask for a welfare check on an apparently intoxicated woman at the store. Police said they found Roman and learned that she was wanted on a bench warrant.
A search of her purse turned up a marijuana pipe, according to court documents. She was also allegedly caught with $21.29 in unpaid store merchandise in her jacket.
Roman is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and retail theft.
5:41 a.m. Sunday — Janel D. Hein, 38, of Butler was found with two suspected crack pipes after police arrested her for a bench warrant on Cross Street. She is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
1:02 p.m. March 23 — Michael S. Gayhart, 36, of Butler Township was allegedly caught with drug contraband after police were called for a report of a man acting strangely at the Grapevine Center on North Elm Street.
Police said they found Gayhart on a bench outside the center. He admitted that he was on drugs, but that he could not remember what he took, court documents said. He was arrested for being drunk in public.
A search of Gayhart allegedly turned up a syringe, crack pipe and push rod, and an empty drug stamp bag.
Gayhart is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness.
12:03 a.m. March 14 — Police said they caught Suellen M. Leitch, 23, of Butler Township with five stamp bags of suspected heroin and a used syringe after arresting her on a warrant on the 400 block of West Jefferson Street.
Leitch is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

Monday — Cody J. Delaney, 22, of Butler was charged with drugged driving stemming from a traffic stop last fall in Butler. Police said he was stopped around 6:05 p.m. Oct. 19 for having a cracked windshield while traveling on the 100 block of North Elm Street.
Delaney smelled of marijuana, according to court documents, and a pat-down search turned up two plastic bags containing marijuana. He also allegedly had a drug-smoking pipe.
Police said when the defendant refused to submit to a blood test, an officer checked his tongue and found it was a green, which they say indicated he had recently used marijuana.
Delaney is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and driving with a suspended license.
Monday — Police charged Lamar D. Kincaid, 54, of Pittsburgh with driving on drugs in connection with a traffic stop last month in Bulter. He was wanted on a warrant, police said, and he was pulled over Feb. 16 at Zeigler and Center avenues.
Kincaid showed impairment during field sobriety tests, according to court documents, and he was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Toxicology results allegedly indicated he had cocaine in his system.
Police said they searched his car and found two drug-smoking pipes.
In addition to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, Kincaid is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
[naviga:h3]Slippery Rock University Police[/naviga:h3]
Wednesday — Demonte J. Cannady, 25, of Pittsburgh was arraigned on charges of having an illegal drug following a traffic stop last month in Slippery Rock Township. Police said he was a passenger in the vehicle that was pulled over around 1:40 p.m. Feb. 23.
During the stop, according to court documents, police found a plastic baggie containing four capsules with suspected psychedelic mushroom powder in them.
Cannady was arraigned on charges of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and released on his own recognizance.
