4:13 p.m. Nov. 23 — Braden J. Yartz, 29, of Butler Township, was allegedly caught with heroin after he was arrested for public intoxication on the 300 block of Miller Avenue. Police found him after they were called for a man reportedly impaired and “bouncing off of cars.” An officer searched Yartz, according to court documents, and turned up three stamp bags of suspected heroin and an uncapped syringe. He is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and public drunkenness.

Monday — Bernie J. Fitzpatrick, 52, of Butler, was charged with drunken driving stemming from a two-vehicle crash last month on Route 8 south near Cooledge Street. Police said he struck another vehicle around 6:43 p.m. Oct. 18. Police said Fitzpatrick's blood-alcohol level was 0.206 percent, or more than two-and-a-half times the state's 0.08 percent legal limit.He is charged with driving under the influence, driving too fast for conditions, careless driving and disregarding traffic lanes.Monday — Police charged Nicole L. Rivera, 35, of Butler, in connection with a hit-and-run wreck in early November on Route 8 near Belmont Road.No one was injured in the crash around 5:10 p.m. Nov. 10. Rivera is charged with hit-and-run, driving a vehicle without insurance, disregarding traffic lanes, careless driving and reckless driving.

5:26 p.m. Nov. 25 — A sport utility vehicle driven by Myron A. Pykus-Walls, 29, of West Sunbury, sideswiped a pickup on Route 8 in Center Township. Tyler J. Anderson, 26, of Butler, was the other driver. No one was injured, but the pickup had to be towed.Nov. 24 — Jarett J. Pokorny, 34, of Butler, was arraigned on charges he attempted to illegally purchase a pistol in April at the Butler Gun Emporium on Route 68 in Oakland Township.He is accused of providing false information on background forms April 5 when he tried to buy a 9 mm handgun. Pokorny is charged with unlawfully attempting to buy a firearm and a misdemeanor charge of unsworn falsification to authorities. He was released on his own recognizance following arraignment.Nov. 25 — A 16-year-old Harrisville boy is suspected of vandalizing an SUV and a detached garage at a home on the 400 block of Houston Avenue in Harrisville. The victim, a 48-year-old man, notified authorities of the incident, and police responded.The vehicle's driver side windows were damaged, and it appeared a BB gun was used to damage a garage window. Police did not release the boy's name.12:19 p.m. Nov. 24 — Tamara L. Glasgow, 59, of West Sunbury, suffered a possible injury in a two-vehicle crash in Clay Township. The wreck occurred when a car driven by a 17-year-old Slippery Rock boy and the SUV she was driving collided at Claytonia and Hall roads. Police did not release the name of the boy, who was cited for a stop-sign violation.Nov. 23 — Gary M. Stebbins, 62, of Penn Township, was charged with alcohol and marijuana impaired driving stemming from a traffic stop last month in Penn Township. Police said he was pulled over around 12:27 a.m. Oct. 5 on Hicks Road.Stebbins eventually was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test, which showed he had marijuana in his system, according to court documents. His blood-alcohol level was 0.217 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.Police said that a search of his car turned up suspected marijuana and a glass smoking pipe.Stebbins is charged with driving under the influence of a combination of alcohol and drugs, DUI, possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, disregarding traffic lanes, failing to keep right and careless driving.
