POLICE REPORTS

The following items are from various police departments:

6:36 a.m. Oct. 9 — Corianne L. Stempien, 23, of Raleigh, N.C., was charged with driving on roadways laned for traffic following a one-vehicle crash on Branchton Road, just west of Route 8. Stempien was driving east on Branchton Road when she drifted off the road, overcorrected and lost control of her 1997 Jeep Wrangler. Stempien was transported to Grove City Medical Center from the scene by Slippery Rock EMS with unknown injuries. Her SUV sustained significant damage and was towed from the scene.

Oct. 14 — William Cypher, 76, of Slippery Rock reported he lost his firearm at some point between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. He reported the firearm could have been lost somewhere in the parking lot of Home Depot, located at 400 Moraine Pointe Plaza, or Walmart Supercenter, located at 400 Butler Commons.

7:15 p.m. Oct. 17 — A 2011 Ford Escape driven by Rodney C. Dickman, 71, of Butler sustained damage to a side view mirror as the result of a hit-and-run crash on Route 356 in Jefferson Township. Dickman was traveling north on Route 356 when a southbound vehicle crossed the middle and hit his SUV. Neither Dickman nor his passenger, Margaret L. Dickman, 71, of Butler, was injured as a result of the crash.

4:19 p.m. Oct. 18 — Cars driven by Kimberly K. Herb, 53, of New Castle; Carol S. Cobane, 63, of Butler; and Helen J. Swain, 73, of Pittsburgh collided on Route 422 at the intersection of Skyline Drive in Connoquenessing Township. Herb was charged with following to closely after failing to apply the brakes of her 2013 Hyundai Sonata while approaching stopped traffic and hitting the rear bumper of Cobane's 2018 Honda Pilot, which then struck the rear bumper of Swain's 2013 Kia Sorento. No injuries were reported.

5:34 p.m. Oct. 18 — A 2010 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Thomas M. Allison, 51, of Clintonville, sustained minor damage when an unsecured load fell off an unknown vehicle traveling in front of it while the two vehicles were traveling north on Grove City Road just past Forrester Road. Neither Allison nor his passenger, Tina M. Bergman, 47, of Slippery Rock, was injured as a result.

12:09 a.m. Oct. 19 — Paula Lowry, 53, of Freeport was arrested on multiple active warrants and transported to Butler County Prison following a traffic stop on Route 68 just north of Route 422. Lowry initially provide officers with a false name and identification. Her 2009 Chevrolet Impala was impounded by police.

12:45 a.m., Oct. 19 — John Ferris, 22, of Chicora was charged with driving under the influence after crashing his 2016 Subaru into an embankment on Henricks Road at the intersection with Manor Hill Drive in Center Township. Henricks refused transport to the hospital for a suspected minor injury.

7:57 p.m. Oct. 19 — A 2016 Jeep Renegade driven by Jason M. Walsh, 49, of Monongahela sustained disabling damage after hitting a deer that entered the road as the vehicle was traveling south on Interstate 79 in Worth Township. Neither Walsh nor his passenger, Rebecca J. Walsh, 48, of Monongahela, were injured as a result of the crash.

7:17 a.m. Oct. 21 — Cars driven by Ashley K. Craig, 31, of Portersville, and Bryan K. Stafford, 25, of Mars, collided at the intersection of Route 19 and Lake Arthur Drive in Muddy Creek Township. Stafford was driving a 2007 Ford Focus northbound on Route 19 when he attempted to avoid Craig, who was driving a 2003 Volkswagen Beetle and turning left onto Route 19 from Lake Arthur Drive. Craig suffered minor injuries, and Stafford suffered no injuries. Craig was charged with failure to yield.

6:30 p.m. Oct. 18 — Nivea Morales, 35, of Puerto Rico was charged with retail theft after attempting to steal $667.21 worth of merchandise from Walmart Supercenter, located at 400 Butler Commons. Morales was detained by Walmart Loss Prevention Officers until police arrived.
