Robbery suspects charged

JEFFERSON TWP — A young man and woman are accused in a weekend burglary at a Saxonburg Road house where $3,400 in property, including a pair of televisions, was stolen.
State police arrested Barry J. Murray, 22, of Butler and Alexandra L. Christmann, 18, of Slippery Rock in connection with the alleged crime Sunday. They are both being held in Butler County Prison.
Troopers got the break-in call just before 4 p.m. for a home in the 400 block of Saxonburg Road. The owner, according to court documents, told investigators that a back window had been pushed in and several items taken.
Missing were two flat-screen TVs, a computer, two soundbars, a Sony PlayStation 4 video game console, an Apple iPad and $500 in currency.
It did not take long for police to identify the alleged crooks.Police that same evening interviewed Murray, who they say confessed to the crime and implicated Christmann.District Judge Kevin O'Donnell arraigned both defendants on felony charges of burglary and theft, and misdemeanor charges of criminal mischief and defiant trespass. They were jailed on $10,000 bail each following arraignment.Preliminary hearings are set April 4 at the office of District Judge Sue Haggerty in Saxonburg.
