WHEELING, W.Va. — Butler graduate and Wheeling Jesuit University men’s lacrosse player Jamison Smith scored four goals in the Cardinals’ recent 9-8 victory over Georgian Court.

Smith also tallied the game-winning goal in the game from his attack position.

GREENVILLE — Freeport graduate Jessica Kelley, a senior pitcher at Thiel College, has been named Presidents’ Athlete Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week.

Kelley was the winning pitcher in the Tomcats’ season-opening 11-6 triumph over Elizabethtown. She worked three innings of relief against No. 24 Moravian on the same day.

[naviga:h3]Cubs boxer Adams wins his pro debut[/naviga:h3]

PITTSBURGH — Butler Cubs boxer Lucas Adams won his professional debut in the light heavyweight division Saturday night, scoring a unanimous four-round decision over Brock Willis of Clarksburg, W.Va.

Adams, 22, won all four rounds against Willis (1-2). Adams was 30-15 as an amateur fighter in the Cubs program.
