12:26 a.m. Jan. 4 — Michael P. Alinskas, 42, of West Sunbury was arrested for drunken driving after a one-vehicle crash in Center Township. Police said his SUV struck a guardrail on Route 308 near Elliott Road.
Alinskas was taken to the barracks for a breath test, which showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.183 percent, or more than twice the state’s 0.08 legal limit.
He is charged with DUI, driving too fast for conditions, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.

8:13 p.m. Jan. 17 — A faulty tire was blamed for a one-vehicle accident in South Buffalo Township. The crash occurred when a front tire blew out on a pickup that Michel Petit Homme, 44, of West Palm Beach, Fla., was driving on Route 28 just south of Furnace Run Road.
The truck hit a guardrail. Neither Petit Homme nor a passenger was injured. Police cited Petit Homme for driving a vehicle with a worn tire and driving a vehicle with a suspended license.
Jan. 14 — Police charged a Pittsburgh man with felony and misdemeanor drug possession in connection with a traffic stop last month on Route 28 north in South Buffalo Township. The defendant, Nathaniel S. Luster, 23, was allegedly found around 9 p.m. Dec. 27 with a bag of marijuana and THC wax.

Wednesday — An Allegheny County woman was charged with drugged driving stemming from a traffic stop last month in Findley Township. The initial call, followed by similar others, came in for an erratic driver on Interstate 79 in Worth Township, Butler County, according to a police report.
Police said they eventually found Maria E. Brentin, 28, of Verona at the state prison parking lot. She is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
2:50 p.m. Jan. 18 — A 17-year-old Slippery Rock girl lost control of her car and struck a ditch on Route 258 just north of Black Run Road in Liberty Township. Police did not release the girl’s name. She was not injured, but her car had to be towed. Police said she was cited for disregarding traffic lanes.
12:58 p.m. Jan. 18 — A minivan driven by an Erie County teenager struck a guardrail on Route 258 just south of East Valcourt Road in Liberty Township. Martine B. Utley was not injured, but her van had to be towed. She was cited for disregarding traffic lanes.
9:59 p.m. Jan. 15 — A 48-year-old Grove City woman was injured when the sport utility vehicle she was driving struck a deer on Route 58 just east of Fleming Road in Pine Township, Mercer County. Police did not release the woman’s name. She was taken to Grove City Medical Center with apparent minor injuries.
Police said the SUV had to be towed, and the deer was killed.
