Butler County Parks and Recreation and the Butler County Humane Society will have a Dog Paddle Pool Pawty from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Alameda Waterpark, 184 Alameda Park Road.

For the canine-only swim, lifeguards will be on duty and there will be play stations. The party will include a contest for the longest jump.

Take a copy of the pet’s license and a copy of current vaccination records to gain entry to the water park.

Half of the proceeds will benefit Butler County Humane Society.

CRANBERRY TWP — The Cranberry Public Library, 2525 Rochester Road, will host local author Jill Cueni-Cohen at 6 p.m. Tuesday to discuss her book “Like It Was Yesterday: A Journalist’s Files Since 9/11.”

The book begins with a personal account of that day and the months afterward. It also includes published and unpublished articles the author prepared for publications to show how that event forever changed the way Americans live.

MARS — The Mars Public Library, 107 Grand Ave., will have its fifth annual Bark for Books at 10 a.m. Sept. 16 in Adams Park.

Prizes will be awarded to dogs with the best costumes. There will be a raffle and gift bags.

MARS — The Mars Public Library, 107 Grand Ave., will host “Grandma’s Attic Flea Market” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 23 in the library community room.

The Woman’s Club of Mars is organizing the event.
