Five Butler County basketball teams will be in action this week in the second round of the PIAA Tournament.

In boys, Butler (21-5) will face Coatesville (27-2) at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Chambersburg in Class 6A. Mars (25-1) takes on William Penn (24-4) at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Hollidaysburg.

In girls, A-C Valley (20-4)meets Our Lady of Sacred Heart (22-4) at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Armstrong in Class 2A play. North Catholic (23-3) plays Blackhawk (20-5) at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Class 4A at Fox Chapel and Slippery Rock (20-5)takes on Chartiers Valley (26-0) at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Moon.

[naviga:h3]SRU’s Hinderliter 2nd team All-PSAC[/naviga:h3]

SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University junior guard Brooke Hinderliter has been named second team All-PSAC West in women’s basketball this season.

Hinderliter averaged 18.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game this season. She scored 511 points this season, fifth-most in SRU single-season history.
