Butler Cubs boxer Lucas Adams is making his professional debut March 2 at The Priory in Pittsburgh.
Adams, 30-15 in eight years as an amateur, will face Keith Coles of Pittsburgh in a 4-round light heavyweight bout.
[naviga:h3]Raab, Scherer tops in Thiel lacrosse[/naviga:h3]
GREENVILLE — Butler graduate JJ Raab and Seneca Valley graduate Paige Scherer have been listed as Presidents’ Athletic Conference Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse Players to Watch, respectively.
Both play for Thiel College.
Raab led the Tomcat men with 34 goals last season, scoring 40 points. Scherer scored 56 goals for the Thiel women last year, including her 100th career tally.
[naviga:h3]Jace Stutz breaks BC3 hoop mark[/naviga:h3]
Butler graduate Jace Stutz took three charges in the Butler County Community College men’s basketball team’s 98-92 loss to Pitt Titusville recently, breaking the program record.
Stutz has taken 46 charges during his BC3 career. The team’s previous record was 43, set by Garrett McHenry in 2017.
Joel Stutz had 46 points and 15 rebounds in the game while Jace Stutz had 15 points and 10 boards. Jordan Sager had 14 points and Josh Knochel had 10 rebounds.
The Pioneers are 6-12 overall, 6-1 in conference play.

Carly Burdett scored 25 points in the Pioneer women’s 76-68 loss to Pitt Titusville. Mackenzie Craig had 24 points and 21 rebounds while Jenna Heitzenrater had 12 rebounds.
BC3 hosts Potomac State on Saturday. The women’s game is at 1 p.m., the men’s game at 3 p.m. Potomac State’s men’s team is undefeated and ranked No. 2 in NJCAA.

All-Star shortstop Francisco Lindor will miss spring training camp — and maybe the start of the season — with a strained right calf. It’s an injury that is concerning to the AL Central champions, who have had an interesting offseason.

Another 12 million has been added to CBS’ viewership totals for the Super Bowl.
The network said Friday that the New England Patriots 13-3 victory over the Los Angeles Rams on Feb. 3 now totals 112.7 million viewers. That’s based on Nielsen’s “Out of Home” viewing metric. That includes viewers at places including other people’s homes, bars, restaurants and hotels.
