Facts vs. feelings

There have been numerous complaints about Donald Trump that stem from feelings rather than facts. A recent letter mentioned Trump would not be spending anymore time than he has to at the White House because the writer “saw pictures of Mir-a-Lago.”

Look up the history of Mir-a-Lago. You may be surprised to see that Trump actually did the nation a favor when he bought it in 1985.

It is common for presidents to be away from the White House. With the technology we have today, it is less and less important to actually be there.

The writer commented that he is “sending his minions abroad to talk to our allies. That’s the job of the secretary of state.

The writer never heard anything about Trump’s mother (“does he even have one?”) Seriously? You don’t have access to a library or the Internet? Oh! You get all your information from CNN (MSNBC?) Look her up — she was an immigrant, for goodness sake! A quite remarkable one.

As for New World Oder, that is associated with Woodrow Wilson and his Fourteen Points and the formation of the League of Nations, long before Hitler wrote about his struggle. The term has also been used by others including Robt Kennedy (New World Society).

The writer’s reference to Mein Kampf was clearly uninformed and meant to raise ire, as are the charges of Trump’s“attitude” toward women. The left constantly uses derogatory labels and demagoguery against someone they are against. Too bad they can’t use facts in their debates instead of emotion.

As far as spending infrastructure money to build a wall, it costs $1,25 million per mile to resurface a four-lane highway. There are more than 160,000 miles of major highways (including some interstate roads) that need repairs/resurfacing. If the wall costs $12 billion, that would take care of 9,600 miles, leaving 151,000 unattended. Illegal immigrants cost the U.S. about $133 billion a year.

Figure it out. If you want to disparage our president, do it with facts, not with your personal feelings.
